In a particular study, participants were given a milkshake that contains 380-calorie under a pretense that it is either an “indulgent” shake with 620-calorie or a 140-calorie “sensible” shake. Those who drank, assuming the drink as a “sensible” shake, responded as if they had taken more calories.
